Useni At 75 Emerges PDP Plateau Governorship Candidate
75 year old Senator Jeremiah Useni has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to contest against Governor Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship contest in Plateau State.
Useni emerged top with 1,014 votes ahead of his nearest rival, Johnbull Shekarau, a member of the House of Representatives who scored about 350 votes.
Useni’s selling point has been his commitment to serve one term in office and finish the two terms of the Southern Senatorial Zone as against the younger aspirants who could bid to serve two terms if they are able to defeat Lalong.
Lalong emerged the APC candidate through affirmation at the APC primaries that was also conducted last Sunday.
