Umahi Finally Accepts Reality Of Peter Obi As PDP Vice-Presidential Candidate
The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Peter Obi has made up with Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and formally received his blessings in his quest to be the vice president of the country.
Mr. Umahi was at the centre of the crisis that recently enveloped the party after it emerged that Southeast leaders were not consulted by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar ahead of his unveiling.
Mr. Obi who visited Umahi at the Government House, Abakaliki said he came to formally inform the governor who is also chairman of Southeast Governors Forum and also solicit his support.
“Umahi is our leader, he is a man of impeccable character, he was at the centre of the storm but I want to tell the people that Umahi and Igbo leaders were misrepresented badly. Igbo leaders never disagreed with my nomination as VP candidate but disagreed with the process but I am here to solicit for your support.”
Umahi on his part commended Mr. Obi for his humility as he promised him his full support in his quest.
