Buhari, Atiku Limited To N5 Billion Campaign Funding In New Senate Law

President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar will be limited to N5 billion in campaign expenses under the new Electoral Bill passed by the Senate on Tuesday.

Under the proposal bill passed by the Senate governorship candidates would be limited to N1 billion while Senate candidates would be limited to N250 million and House of Representatives would be limited to N100 million.

Any candidate who violates the above threshold shall pay a fine of 1% of the money or spend a prison term not exceeding 12 months or both.
