Kano Rally Shows APC Has Lost – Kaduna PDP Senate Candidate

The mammoth crowd that attended the Kano rally of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is the final signal that the All Progressives Congress, APC will be defeated in this Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly polls, the PDP’s senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central, Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) has said.

A statement signed by Mr LA’s media director, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, attributed the imminent early fall of the APC to failure of governance and broken promises.

“All politicians know that the key to winning elections is to make great promises. But in practical terms, the key to maintaining power is keeping those promises. APC  cannot expect to retain the  power it attained by making promises then breaking them.

“In the build up to the 2015 elections, the APC campaigners promised to cure the ills of society including insecurity, illiteracy, disease, unemployment, and poverty. Many supporters and independent voters got caught up in a sort of mass delusion of inflated expectations.

“People hoped for urgent results from the administration and when the results failed to materialize, they naturally have to to react with outrage and contempt as we now see in all states of the North and in most southern states.

“It is sad that despite the public acclaim that ushered the administration just four years  ago, Buhari failed to bring about the promised vast improvements in security, health, education, employment, infrastructure, the civil service and the economy.

“In reality, Buhari and his government have failed to deliver even at the local level, from where he extracted most of his votes after promising to improve specific problems that the rural people care about the most,” the statement said.

Mr LA said the failure has permeated all the states ruled by the APC particularly Kaduna where negative climate in politics has gotten worse in the past four years, with voter discontent fast becoming a phenomena among  the population.

“This is shown in the manner each of Elrufai government’s many inconsistencies now go viral within minutes of their discovery.

“Elrifai’s specific inconsistencies include reluctance to strongly relate with the grassroots, his obvious contempt for workers, his reckless and hurtful statements about the constituents and his general bully persona that are impacting the state for the worse.

there for everyone to see and feel. It’s not about me or about the Northern Emancipation Network, but about the people.

“Elrufai’s failure is so glaring that even without the need to further detail his many broken campaign promises that have accumulated throughout the last four years, that Kaduna is no longer set up for eight years of an elrufai administration,” the statement said.
