Contrary to the claims by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the party mobilised its officials for the aborted February 16 presidential and National Assembly polls, it has now emerged that the party did not.

gwgng.com has learnt from multiple sources involved in the APC campaign that funds were not released by the party to the agents, giving currency to the claim that the APC leadership was in the know that the election would be cancelled.

A senior APC official who was in charge of one of the states told this website of how funds were not released to the state and how officials were put in suspense because of the absence of funds.

“I waited on end for the national headquarters to release funds for us to mobilise our party agents but money was not forthcoming. It was later I learnt that the national chairman had instructed that money should not be released until the sensitive materials were released,” the official disclosed.

“The issue for me was that some of my terrain are difficult to reach so I could not wait for the party’s money so I had to use my personal resources and I don’t know whether I am going to get that back,” the official said.

Another party official in a neighbouring state also confirmed the development that the APC did not release funds to party agents.

The revelations not only put a lie to the claim that the party was shocked with the postponement and may confirm claims that the party pushed for the postponement.
