High court on Yahaya Bello's request

The deputy governor of Kogi State, Chief Simon Achuba has accused Governor Yahaya Bello of putting his life in danger by causing the withdrawal of his personal security and putting his residence in darkness.

Speaking to newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday, the deputy governor said security men attached to him numbering 15 were asked to report at the Government House by the ADC to the governor and upon which they were all put in detention upon frivolous charges.

“They accused my ADC and Ordely of gunrunning but they denied the allegation. As I’m speaking now they are under detention in Government House. I informed the Commissioner of Police on the situation but till now he has refused to take any action.

“I’m a member of the All Progressives Congress. I reported to the national leader of the APC. My impress has been stopped for no any reason by the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“I live as deputy governor in the house without security, I travelled home without police, my life is in danger,” he lamented.

He added that utility to his house including light and water had also been cut off putting him into a life of darkness.
