Delta APC South Ticket: Uduaghan Says There Is No Court Order Against Him

Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has dismissed claims of a dispute to his candidacy as the Delta South Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

His assertion in a statement obtained by www.gwgng.com follows claims that the primary which produced him had been annulled by an Abuja court.

It was learnt that AVM Terry Okorodudu had taken the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to court on the claim that there was no genuine primary that was held to produce Uduaghan as candidate of the party.

The APC had during the primary disqualified all the major rivals of Uduaghan and conducted a primary in which he was the only candidate.

Dr. Uduaghan who had at that time newly joined the party from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP had following that sought to make peace with his rivals, but Okorodudu apparently unrelenting took the matter to court which last week annulled the primary.

But rebuffing the claim, Uduaghan in a statement said:

“We wish to clarify that His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, was never aware of the case nor was he a party to the case and was never joined in the alleged suit.

“The court had no time ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove the name of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan from the list of candidates in the election.

“Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan has instructed his lawyers to take necessary legal steps on the matter, even as he enjoins APC party faithful and supporters to come out en mass to vote the party and all its candidates to victory in the elections.

“We wish to state categorically that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan remains the candidate of the APC for Delta South and we are confident of winning the election”.
