The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is to conduct supplementary elections in eight senatorial constituencies checks by gwgng.com have discovered.

The supplementary elections are on account of the failure of the candidates in the February 23 National Assembly elections to win out rightly. In one particular case in Imo West, INEC refused to declare Owelle Rochas Okorocha as winner of the election upon the claim that he was returned by the returning officer under duress.

The supplementary elections are to hold in Abia South, Imo North, Kogi East, Ondo South, Plateau South, Rivers East and Rivers West.

No date has been fixed for the supplementary elections.
