Lagos Police Nab Kidnappers of Fire Service Boss

The police in Lagos have nabbed two of the kidnappers of the director of the state’s Fire Service.

Blessing Boyo and Smart Alfred who were arrested after being tracked by the police anti-kindapnning unit were paraded by the police for the recent kidnap of Mr. Rasaki Musibau, the director of Fire Service in Lagos State.

The pair revealed that the sum of N5 million was collected for the release of Musibau who spent about three days before he was released. They, however, claimed that they did not get anything from the proceeds before they were apprehended.

Boyo 29 speaking at the parade said: “the leader of the gang MK is the person in control of the communication with the outside world and demand for Ransom from relatives of the victims. He hasn’t given us any money before we were arrested.

Giving details of their modus operandi, he said:

“we usually, block the roads with wood to prevent motorists from free passage and when they drive to the point where the road is blocked they slow down and we strike and kidnap our victims. Usually we use four guns during operations.”

“MK he is also a youth leader in our community. He was the one that came to the village in Arogbogo at Ondo State who asked me to come with him. He said he had a job for me and I didn’t know it was a kidnapping job. I have never been involved in it before. I am an apprentice I work with wood operator.”

“After we kidnapped the Fire boss and the other six people we took them to into the camp in the bush were we kept them. Some of the boys who work with Mk cook in the camp. We fed the victims with Egusi soup and garri.”

Lagos State commissioner of police, Muazu Zubairu who paraded the suspects disclosed that they were arrested following sustained efforts by the police’s anti-kidnapping unit.
