Premiership: Arsenal, Man-U Out Of Top Four

The race for the top four in the English premier league ended for Arsenal and Manchester United on Sunday as both teams ended the 37th round of the 2018.19 English league with draw games.

Manchester United ended the game at Huddersfield 1-1 while Arsenal was forced to a 1-1 draw by Brighton at the Emirates Stadium. Chelsea, however, triumphed over Brighton 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal was left with a mathematical chance of qualifying for the European top league with one match outstanding only if Tottenham Hotspurs lose their last match. And that would also depend on Arsenal winning the last game and overcoming the eight-goal difference between the two teams.

Chelsea was definitely put in the top four after a 3-0 trashing of Brighton at Stamford Bridge. The game put Chelsea at third place with 71 points, one point ahead of Tottenham.

While the race for the top spot between Manchester City and Liverpool is expected to go down to the wire on the final day next weekend, the race for the fourth place in Europe between Arsenal and Tottenham could also be obviated if Arsenal succeeds wins the Europa League.

If Arsenal fails to succeed, it would be the third straight year that the club would be out of Europe’s top league.
