Internet service giant, Google joined prominent Nigerians including the Federal Government to honour Samuel Okwaraji one of Nigeria’s greatest footballers ever on the occasion of his posthumous 55th birthday.

Okwaraji died at the age of 25 while playing for Nigeria at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on August 12, 1989.

Until his death he had an exceptional commitment to honouring national invitations despite his wizardry with the ball, a commitment that was in contrast with some of his colleagues at that time.

On the occasion of his birthday on Sunday, Google honoured him with a doodle on its search engine.
