Atiku Abubakar has threatened Lauretta Onochie, the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari to pay a N500 million fine or face a N2 billion law suit for her twitter posting that he, Atiku was on the watchlist of the United Arab Emirate, UAE.

Atiku was also further peeved that the twitter post accused him of conniving to get terrorists to trouble Nigeria.

The twitter postings were reportedly made on May 7, 2019.

In a letter dated May 14, 2019 authored by his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, Ms. Onochie was given 48 hours to make the N500 million payment and retraction in six national newspapers, an international newspapers and on all social media platforms where the accusation was made.

The letter was made available to GreenWhiteGreen on Sunday and it has yet to be confirmed if Ms. Onochie, an otherwise rabid basher of Buhari’s political rivals had responded.

Atiku in the letter described the insinuation that he was on the watchlist of the UAE as false given that by the date he was demanding the apology, May 14, he was in the UAE and untouched. He said the tweet had tarnished his image and charged Ms. Onochie to pay the N500 million as exemplary damage within 48 hours failing which he would seek legal redress.
