The Bauchi State Government has rebuffed insinuations of last-minute recruitments by the outgoing governor of the state as a way of enslaving the incoming administration.

Special adviser to the governor, Ali M Ali in a statement clarified that what was claimed as recruitment was internal transfers among tertiary institutions in the state directed towards meeting accreditation requirements of their national supervising agencies.

The statement also noted the regularization of casual workers in some agencies as it charged the spokesmen of the incoming governor to cease opportunities available to it to appraise itself with the facts of the issues it may be bothered with.

The statement read in part:

“What they confused as recruitment is the internal transfer of personnel within the existing labour force to meet the accreditation requirements in tertiary institutions of  the state.”

Among the institutions listed were College of Legal Studies, Misau, College of Education, Azare, College of Education, Kangere, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi and College of Agriculture, Bauchi.

“Similarly, the appointment of casual workers in the treasury division   and Bauchi state Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency (BASOVCA) was regularized.

“In all these processes, due process was strictly adhered to. None of them violated the law.

“Against this backdrop, it came across as misrepresenting the fact of the recent developments   in the civil service as setting a “trap”.

“It is advisable that the Transition Committee members of the gov-elect should avail itself the opportunity of ascertaining the true picture  of developments before going to town at this  period.”
