The outgoing deputy governor of Kaduna State Bala Bantex has hailed Nasir El-Rufai as a man of empathy who puts people first in all his considerations.

Bantex who dropped out from seeking a second term in his bid for the Senate lost in his bid. The decision to seek the Senate opened the way for El-Rufai to bring in Dr. Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate, a decision that stoked controversy being the first time that two Muslims will run on a governorship ticket.

Speaking on Tuesday on his last day as deputy-governor when El-Rufai received the report of the transition committee, Bantex hailed the governor who won a second term as “a man of empathy who has taken the state to greater heights.”

“One of El-Rufai’s strongest quality is empathy, putting people’s interest first and very considerate in handling matters of governance with the people at the centre of critical decisions.

“Though, I still have Executive Council Meeting to attend today, I want to categorically say that I am leaving office at the end of the day as deputy governor of the state,” he said.
