Arsenal Invicinbles’ Reyes Dies In Car Crash

Former Arsenal star Jose Antonio Reyes who was part of the memorable Invincible Squad of 2003/4 has died at 35. Reyes died in a motor accident on Saturday morning in Utrera,  near Seville his birthplace in Spain.

Besides Arsenal, Reyes also played for Rear Mardrid and for his country, Spain.

Reyes who started his football career from his hometown club, Sevilla at the age of 16 won 21 caps for his Spain.

There were two other persons in his car, one of whom, his 23 year old cousin was also reported to have died. The third occupant according to sources suffered burns and is now in hospital care.

News of the death came after Sevilla FC disclosed it on its official twitter account.

Arsenal followed up not long after.

Reyes started playing in the Spanish second tier in January following a five month deal he signed with Extremadura.

He is survived by his wife Noelia Lopez who he married in 2017, and two young children.
