Chelsea and Belgium playmaker, Eden Hazard is set for his long-cherished move to Real Madrid following an agreement between the English and Spanish clubs it emerged on Thursday.

Chelsea it emerged held on to their terms that valued Hazard at about $165 million for the star player who was set to enter the last year of his contract with the Europa Cup winners.

Player terms are, however, yet to be agreed but it is not expected to be a serious problem between the player and Real Madrid whose manager, Zinedine Zidane had for long been desirous of having him come over to Madrid.

Hazard who joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 had been a consistent playmaker for the various managers that have strolled through the English club in the last seven years.

He scored twice as Chelsea overcame fellow English club, Arsenal in Baku, Azerbadjan on May 29.

At the end of the match he seemed to have said goodbye to the club in a post-match press conference saying:

ā€œI think itā€™s a goodbye. My dream was to play in the Premier League, I did it for seven years. Maybe itā€™s time for a new challenge.ā€

His new challenge will be to find a decisive role as a playmaker in the equally competitive La Liga.
