Buhari Visit: Kogi Monarchs Are Suffering And Smiling – PDP Vanguard

Published

on

The Kogi PDP Youths Vanguard has lamented the visit by the state’s traditional rulers to President Muhammadu Buhari to encourage support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s second term. Noting what they described as the hypocrisy in the visit given the suffering of their people and the fact that the traditional rulers were themselves being owed up to ten months of their salaries.

The statement signed by Muktar Samuel, State Publicity Secretary of the Vanguard, lamented that the Traditional Rulers who are suffering but smiling, would bury their heads in shame, having been bought over, to visit Mr. President to seek his support for the governor.

The PDP Vanguard said the day of reckoning would soon come, told Buhari that the traditional rulers are on their own, and not speaking the minds of Kogi people.

The PDP Vanguard urged the people of the state to place the traditional rulers in their right perspective, as suffering and smiling chiefs, who only went to butter their bread, and described them as cash and carry traditional rulers.

The PDP Vanguard observed that with Kogi people suffering in an unimaginable manner under the present administration, wondered why so much would allegedly be paid to the traditional rulers that would make them sell their integrity on the alter of Personal enrichment at the expense of the people.

The PDP Youths Vanguard described the level of desperation by Gov. Yahaya Bello to make traditional rulers active political actors, rather than custodian of culture and tradition and as father to all as most unfortunate.
