How 67-Year-Old Woman Who Hacked N16.2 Million From Bank Was Arrested

An Igbosere, Lagos Magistrate Court was on Wednesday told how a 67-year-old woman who allegedly hacked into a First Bank account and milked N16.2 million was apprehended in Lagos.

Wuraola Folashade Oluloye who allegedly committed the crime was arraigned on a five-count charge before Folashade Olukoya, the chief magistrate of the Igbosere Court in Lagos.

The trail for Oluloye the court was told, began after Emefiele Ogbor, the account owner of First Bank account number  3014419974 domiciled at the Agidingbi, Lagos branch of the bank reported that his account had been milked of N16.2 million between October 16 and December 31 of 2018.

The money was transferred into Oluloye’s accounts in in Stanbic IBTC, Union, Sterling and First banks.

Upon internal bank investigations, the head of department of Forensic Auditors of First Bank, Mr. Solomon Akhanolu made a formal complaint to the police which set on the trail of Oluloye.

The bank then laid siege for her when she came to make withdrawal from her bank account and quickly apprehended her.

Ms. Oluloye, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges once they were read out to her in court.

Olukoya, the presiding magistrate set bail at N500,000 and she is to be remanded in Kirikiri prison until she fulfils the bail conditions.

The case continues on Monday, June 24.
