OYO: How Ajimobi, Senior Aides Shared N1bn Vehicles

Evidence has emerged of how the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi shared government vehicles worth over N1 billion with his deputy, Moses Alake and other senior aides.

Among the beneficiaries were the Secretary to the State Government, Ishmael Olalekan Alli and other aides including security details.

It was revealed that the governor went away with two SUVs – and a Hilux pick-up, the Deputy, one SUV and four Toyota Hilux pick-ups, the SSG and Speakers were given one SUV each and Head of Service, an SUV and a Hilux Pick-up.

Also in a Memo titled “EXIT PACKAGE” addressed to Ajimobi, the then Executive Chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), A.O Makanjuola (Mrs.) dated April 18, 2018 also proposed how to share government vehicles ahead of the May 29 exit.  The memo to the governor read: “This is to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state via my appointment, under your able leadership, as the chairman of SUBEB”

“May I humbly request your gracious approval for the allocation, as an exit privilege, of my car –Toyota Highlander- 2014 Model, Reg. No. 06D 14 OY, Chassis No. 5TDBKRFH7DS025504 and Engine No. 2GRE632241X, Colour Blue, free of charge, in line with the exercise of your Excellency discretionary power on the request.”
