Revolution: Buhari Supporters Damn Sowore, Others As Rabble-Rousers

The Buhari Media Organization (BMO) has described individuals calling for revolution against the President Muhammad Buhari administration as confused rabble-rousers and failed politicians seeking undue attention.

BMO said in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke that the organisers are mainly attention seekers with no proper grasp of national issues.

“The so-called ‘revolutionaries’ are a rainbow coalition of misguided Nigerians led by Omoyele Sowore whose political career ended almost as soon as it began and is looking for a way back into national consciousness.

“This is an individual who couldn’t even hold together a small political party for up to two years but is claiming that an election in which he won his polling unit and had 33,953 votes across the country was a sham.

“Now, this failed politician who was roundly rejected by the Nigerian electorate is threatening a nationwide anarchy in response to the expressed will of the masses who gave President Buhari an overwhelming mandate for a second term in office.

“So he came up with the idea of a revolution or what his group called ‘days of rage protests’, but all they could come up with in their declaration of action is nothing short of political jabbering.

The group wondered how any politically conscious Nigerian could accuse President Buhari of imposing IMF/World Bank economic agenda on the country.

BMO said: “The confused individuals may have mistaken the President for someone else when they claimed that his administration has been imposing policies dictated by those institutions on the masses.

” If there is any proof that they are misguided Nigerians, this is it. We make bold to say that there is no administration in recent times that had been so contrariant of these Bretton Woods institutions as the Buhari administration.

“So, clearly, that position is as dead on arrival just as their claim of ‘more than ‘a dozen armed conflicts’ as well as their demand for the implementation of the new national minimum wage.

“How could these individuals glibly make claims of over 12 armed conflicts in the country which they couldn’t even itemise?  Their demand for the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky,the leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also showed the shallowness of the organisers of the so- called revolution at a time when, even, the group has opted for dialogue and other legal options to resolve the crisis over the trial of their leader.”

BMO also expressed hope that the people behind the action would ensure that their spouses and children would be on the streets rather than use other people’s children to drive their personal agenda.

“We are aware that the endgame for this is 2023 when the lynchpin of the plan hopes to make another attempt at the Presidency.

“He is now banking on security agencies furthering this course by arresting him in the manner that his new-found friend Nnamdi Kanu gained some notoriety.

“We urge younger people not to be taken in by the antics of these misguided Nigerians because the plan is spurned by selfish interest,” it added.
