Nollywood A-list artiste, Jim Iyke on Friday deepened controversy over his marital status. He did this as he gave a lesson on marital unity revealing how his mother in submission teamed up with his father to throw him out of the home at the commencement of his acting career.

Jim Iyke, 42 while refusing to dabble into whether he is or when he will get married, however, said that marriage is something that every individual must prepare very well to enter as he vowed that he has no Plan B for a second marriage.

The Last Flight to Abuja actor spoke on the set of Your View on TVC on Friday morning during which he was regularly grilled on why at 42 he was not married.

The actor has had at least two children from separate women including his latest Babymama, the Lithuanian born Dana Kinduryte.

“Whether I am married or not nobody will know until I decide. My life is intact, I am the happiest person you will ever meet,” he said at the end of the programme as the panel put the question to him on his status.

He nevertheless affirmed that marriage was something to be well prepared for like parenthood.

Noting how he prepared for parenthood, he said: “I am fearless. I approached parenthood with the same degree of fearlessness.”

It was at that point that he was asked, “So, how come you have not married.”

Responding, he said:

“Because I am also approaching it with the same fearlessness. Let us look at the variables we are looking at. We have over 95% almost 100% failure of marriages among people in my realm. Will that dissuade you? No! but it must inform you that you must approach this realm of life from a different perspective. The more successful you are, the harder it becomes.”

“You get used to your space so much that it becomes that anybody that is coming into it, what are they coming to the table with?

“It is because they don’t think it through and everybody gets into it with a Plan B whether it works or not, I have my way out.

“I have never thought of a Plan B, I am the product of a blessed marriage structure, there was love there.”

Besides the controversy over his inclination towards marriage, Jim Iyke explained how his mother portrayed the essence of spousal solidarity to him, he said:

“The day I understood what love was, was when I said I wanted to be an actor. I was an A student, intelligent and all that. My dad said leave my home if you are not going to get your Masters Degree. And I looked at the person who was supposed to be my best friend in my whole life, somebody that was my support system all my life; my mother and my mother said ‘I will stand with my husband,’ irrespective of the fact that I am an only son.”

“A woman who will stand with her husband even though she was supporting me behind sending me money now and then, but they kicked me out!”
