Senator Dino Melaye Loses Senate Seat

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye has lost the Senate seat he was holding. He lost the Kogi West Senate seat after the declaration of his election as a senator as invalid by the Kogi State National Assembly Election Tribunal on Friday.

The declaration was upon the tribunal’s upholding of the submission of the claims by Senator Smart Adeyemi of irregularities in the conduct and compilation of the results that declared Melaye winner of the election.

The tribunal agreed to the request of Senator Adeyemi for a fresh election. The decision has now put Melaye, a PDP governorship aspirant in the forthcoming election in the fray of seeking two electoral offices at the same time.
