Elder Simon Achuba has been removed from office as deputy governor of Kogi State following his impeachment by the State House of Assembly.

His impeachment and removal from office followed the presentation of the report of the panel earlier constituted by the chief judge into allegations levelled against him by the House of Assembly.

Achuba had been in a feisty war with Governor Yahaya Bello over diverse allegations

Earlier on Friday, the panel constituted by the chief judge led by its chairman, Barrister John Baiyeshea presented the report of the seven-man panel to Speaker Kolawole Matthew.

Following the submission the House of Assembly went into a session and after about two hours, the majority leader of the house, Bello Balogun revealed to the media that the house following its consideration of the report resolved to impeach and remove the deputy governor from office.
