The South-South caucus of the All Progressives Congress, APC on Thursday night resolved to set up a panel to resolve lingering crises in Edo, Rivers and Cross Rivers States even as it passed a vote of confidence on the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The meeting attended by high ranking party chieftains from the zone also resolved to appoint the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie-Omo Agege as the political leader of the zone.

The three-point resolutions of the caucus according to party sources, however, did not reflect what was described as a boisterous meeting that was enlivened by sharp altercations on national and regional issues.

However, despite the conviviality that shadowed the meeting the absence of some prominent party chieftains echoed in the meeting that was hosted in the private office of the national chairman, Oshiomhole. The Edo State chapter of the party had earlier championed a boycott of the meeting, but the call was largely mixed as more than 40 of the 73 invitees honoured the invitation to the meeting that was chaired by the National Vice-Chairman, Hilliard Eta.
