Kogi West: Adeyemi Wins As Melaye Vows To Challenge Results

Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been returned as winner of the Kogi West Senatorial election following the supplementary election that took place in selected areas of the constituency on Saturday.

Adeyemi defeated his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP rival, Senator Dino Melaye by 88,373 votes to 62,133 votes.

Melaye has, however, dismissed the election as a fraud vowing to challenge the results and the conduct of the election in the courts.

The Saturday supplementary election was generally marred by voter apathy as many people stayed away from the poll.
