Lagos Police Burst Fake Miracle Syndicate

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended six members of a syndicate specialized in scamming people through fake miracles.

The suspects all females are organized by a fake pastor, David Elijah, now on the run who used the ladies as a bait for unwary members of the public.

The six ladies paraded by the Commissioner of  Police, Lagos State  Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu , were Lawal Damilola,  29; Makinde Folashade, 49; Babayemi Joke, 37; Precious Sunday,  20; Victoria Emmanuel, 42 and Gift Adams.

The modus operandi of the syndicate involved the ladies infiltrating crusade grounds organized by Elijah during which they would come out to give testimonies of superlative healings received through the ministration of the fake pastor.

The testimonies acted as baits for other members of the public to become entrapped.

Giving details on how they were apprehended, Odumosu at a news conference to showcase his achievements said:

“The Command received an information about a syndicate who specializes in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by conducting fake miracles in locations such as Festac, Airport Road and Ikoyi.

“The Pastor, one David Elijah, who is presently at large, conspired with his cohorts by hypnotizing his followers before robbing and dispossessing them of their valuables. On the strength of the information,  six suspects  were arrested on December 17, 2019,  at Ikoyi.

“The suspects confessed receiving payment of N3, 000 each from the Pastor to stage the miracles. They have been charged to court” , Odumosu stated.
