Campus Editor Allegedly Remanded For Criticising Buhari, Tinubu – Lawyer

The Department of State Services, DSS has allegedly arrested and remanded a campus journalist, Ayoola Babalola for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu in a campus newspaper.

Babalola served as editor to the GAPOSA Trumpet, a campus newspaper in Gateway Polytechnic where he recently graduated.

Babalola is currently being held at the Ibara Maximum Prison, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
His lawyer Inibehe Effiong confirmed the development in a set of tweets, on Friday.

Effiong tweeted that: “Late on Friday, I was alerted that my client Mr. Ayoola Babalola, a courageous student activist and young journalist, was arrested and charged to court for allegedly publishing certain articles in a Campus Newspaper called GAPOSA Trumpet in which he served as the Editor.”
