Oshiomhole: National Vice Chairman Backs Court Decision

The All Progressives Congress, APC was on Wednesday steeping into more crisis after one of the subsisting national officers alleged a plot by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to foist the national secretary of the party, Arch. Waziri Bulama to act in his place following his suspension from office.

The National Vice Chairman, Northeast of the party, Comrade Mustapha Salihu while giving his strong endorsement of the court suspension of Oshiomhole alleged a plot to plant Bulama to act as national chairman.

With the offices of the two deputy national chairmen (North and South) vacant, Salihu alleged that it was procedurally wrong for the national secretary to take over.

Even more, Bulama has not been accepted by the mainstream of the party and his nomination as National Secretary was the cause of the discord between Salihu and Oshiomhole.

Salihu had opposed the nomination of Bulama from Borno as replacement insisting that the slot should go to Yobe and that he as National Vice-Chairman, Northeast was not reckoned with in the emergence of Bulama as national secretary.

Reacting to the development in a chat with selected newsmen in Abuja, Salihu said:

“I believe you people (correspondents) are aware of the meeting held about a month ago on that matter, which ended without a decision. Since then, there has not been a decision as to the replacement of the secretary. The chairman is about to create more chaos within the party as he gave the order.

“The public should know that any decision that Oshiomhole makes henceforth is an illegal decision and will not hold.

“We will keep our fingers crossed until the court decides. I am saying this so that there will not be two national secretaries and there can be no affirmation from a national chairman that has been suspended.”

On if he would accept Bulama as National Secretary, he said that “the party cannot accept Bulama, who is the party? The person that should hold that position must be the most senior person in the party.”
