Nigerians Demand Freedom For Sanusi On Social Media

Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform to demand for the release of the dethroned Emir of Kano Emirate, Muhammadu Sanusi II from the Kano State Government.
The Kano State Government, on Monday, dethroned Sanusi for allegations bordering on the disrespect for the office of the state governor and lawful authorities.
Sanusi was later banished and put under house arrest in an apartment at Awe Local Government, Nasarawa State.
The images of the apartment in which the dethroned Emir will stay have already appeared online, causing outrage from social media users.
Many Twitter users described the apartment as prison-like, while calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail over the issue.
The hashtag #FreeSanusiNow has generated over 5,000 tweets, as many Twitter users are calling for the release of the dethroned Emir.
