The Coronavirus has aggravated from an epidemic to a pandemic. It has proven to be a challenge for the world with many world leaders rushing to reassure their citizens even though they know they are helpless.

Notable persons in the world including world leaders and celebrities are in a panic over the development.

Many activities have been postponed and the football calendar has been put in disarray. The Euro 2020 has been moved to next year as the coronavirus has affected players and coaches. Many players have been quarantined in a bid to stop its spread.

Nevertheless, other things have been making waves aside the coronavirus health scare.

  • A second person known as Adam Castillejo has been cured of HIV in the United Kingdom. The man from London was not cured by the HIV drugs, however, but by a stem-cell treatment he received for a cancer he also had, the Lancet HIV journal reports.
  • An asteroid half the size of Mount Everest is heading towards Earth next month, but scientists say it is not expected to collide with us. The object, called 52768 (1998 OR2), is 1 to 2.5 miles wide and will pass within 3,908,791 miles, moving at 19,461 miles per hour. The asteroid orbits the sun every 1,340 days, or 3.67 years and completes a rotation on its axis every 4.11 days, CNN first reported.
  • Another medical crisis known as the Dengue fever is unfolding in Latin America and sees cases of in Colombian City soar by 500 percent in a month.
  • The Russian Parliament passed a reform allowing President Vladimir Putin to stay as President until 2036. Russian President Vladimir Putin also said he would approve newly-proposed changes to the Russian constitution that would allow him to remain in power until 2036. Under the current constitution, Putin would be required to step down when his term ends in 2024, and speculation was rife about what Putin would do next.
  • An oil price war has emerged between   Russia and Saudi Arabia which are heavyweights of OPEC. The Saudi Arabia-Russia oil price war could mean the death of OPEC.
