El-Rufai Tests Positive For COVID-19, Self-Isolates

The first case of the COVID-19 disease touched down in Kaduna State on Saturday with Governor Nasir El-Rufai being the first patient.

The official twitter handle of the governor confirmed the development late on Saturday.

The governor said that he earlier in the week submitted a sample for the COVID-19 test and that the result came in late on Saturday evening.

He further said that he was not showing any symptoms but that he had gone into self-isolation but would continue to issue statements from time to time.

He tweeted thus:

Before the confirmation of the news, the state’s deputy governor had chaired a meeting of the State’s COVID-19 Committee.
