Star Actress Shocked By Reactions To Good Deed

One of Nigeria’s most popular actresses, Maryam Booth famed for her popular films in Northern Nigeria has raised a stir in social media after she offered to give out 100 bags of rice, Ajinomoto and groundnut oil to the less privileged.

In her tweet on social media, Ms. Booth in a twitter post asked for suggestions from her followers on nearby IDP centres for the consignments to be shipped to.

She said:

I’m giving out 100bags if rice , 100carton of @ajinomotto, 50galons of oil to support the less privileged if you know any of the IDP camps close to you please drop us the address here my team will reach out.#StayAtHomeAndStaySafe #CoronaVirusInNigeria #coronavirusisreal

Her request from her fans to direct the distribution of the consignments was, however, met with frontal claims that they and not IDPs need the consignments.

Many of her fans said that they were equally hungry saying that the government was taking care of the IDPs and that they rather should be beneficiaries of the largesse.

At this point, sorry for suggesting, I think not only IDPs need this aid, the president @MBuhari promise to cater for them specially during this period and already other donor agencies are at their aid. The attention should be on the poor and vulnerable families around us.

You don't have to go to any IDP camps….They are many Tsangayas with a lot of Almajirai that really need food for survival ,I think that's the best place yo give if you really need go help….The kids are starving…Thank You
