Funke Akindele, Husband Plead Guilty

Nollywood Super Girl, Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, aka JJC Skillz are awaiting sentencing at a Lagos Magistrate Court after pleading guilty to contravening the Social Distancing regulation of the Lagos State Government.

The couple was arraigned on Monday morning after the uproar that followed the viral video of the birthday party hosted by Ms. Akindele for her husband on Saturday.

Ms Akindele, a brand ambassador for Dettol had been engaged in promoting social distancing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She was arrested on Sunday evening following the circulation of the video of the party. Before her arrest she had made profuse apologies for her action.

Her husband joined her in custody on Monday morning before the two were taken to court.

Star musician, Naira Marley who was also asked to report was not arraigned as no mention was made of him.

The husband and wife pleaded guilty when they were arraigned a short while ago.

The court is no on a 30 minute break to consider sentencing.
