Kaduna First Lady, Hadiza El-Rufai has stepped in to calm a twitter fight following a spat over alleged gang-rape between her son, Bello and some twitter users including former education minister, Oby Ezekwesili.

A twitter user had alleged that Bello threatened to gang rape Igbo women following a spat between them over the capacity of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The confrontation sparked outrage on Twitter, as many Twitter users berated  Bello El-Rufai over the allegation.

Reacting to this, former Minister of  Education, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili asked Bello El-Rufai to apologize for his tweets and proceed for anger management programme

Ezekwesili tweeted: “@B_ELRUFAI Did I just see horrific tweets from your handle threatening gang-rape? What was that?

Why the ethnic vitriol toward Igbos? What’s that, Bello? Too tragic.

“You need to not just immediately apologize for those vile tweets but get into an Anger Management program quickly.

“I have maintained that we can disagree without being disagreeable. We can object without being objectionable.

Initially, Mrs. El-Rufai, a leading literary icon and the inspiration for #Kadunalanguageclass tweeted saying all is fair in war and love.

“Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. All is fair in love and war. My belief: Respect everyone, but take no shit from anyone.”

However, following the brouhaha, the First Lady tweeted saying:

Following the mother’s intervention, Bello El-Rufai has also come out to disclaim any allegation of gang rape with a vow to sue at least two newspapers and a columnist who he said fell into his trap.
