Atiku, Prominent Nigerians Mourn Akinjide

Prominent Nigerians far and near to him were on Tuesday morning mourning the death of one of Nigeria’s founding fathers, Chief Richard Akinjide who has died at 88.

Akinjide etched his name in Nigeria’s political landscape when he salvaged Shehu Shagari’s election victory in the Supreme Court with his validation of the famous twelve two-third of the states that got the National Party of Nigeria, NPN its 1979 presidential victory.

It was learnt that the legal luminary died in the early hours of Tuesday in his Ibadan residence, the Oyo State Capital, from old age related illness.

His death has drawn reactions especially from those in the political class.
