Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Dip To 64, Mum On Kano

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, announced 64 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total number of infections in Nigeria to 1337.

The NCDC, in a tweet late on Monday, said that the cases came from Lagos, 34, FCT 15, Borno 11, while two each were from Taraba and Gombe states.

The agency was, however, silent on Kano amidst apprehension about the recent increase in deaths in the state that some have attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The centre said no deaths were recorded in Nigeria in the last 24 hours and no new state has reported a case.

The NCDC added that as of 11:20 p.m. on April 27 there were 1337 confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported in Nigeria.

According to the agency, Nigeria has 1040 Active Cases Recorded by 11:50pm, on April 27, while 255 infected persons had been treated and discharged and 40 deaths were recorded.

NCDC said that one case previously reported as a Lagos State case, is now reported as an FCT case and the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is now at 764 and 157 in FCT.
