Lagos, Rivers Record Big Leaps In COVID-19 Cases

Nigeria recorded a 92% increase in new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday with cases jumping from 176 to 338 from the previous day.

Most of the increase came from Lagos which recorded an 82% increase in new cases jumping from 95 on Saturday to an astonishing 177 on Sunday.

Rivers State also comparatively had a high increase in proportion as its number of new cases jumped 700% from two recorded on Saturday to 16 on Sunday.

The developments in Lagos came as the authorities there on Sunday gave guidelines for the reopening of the economy which Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said must first, however, be upon the actualization of certain requirements.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in its daily report of developments on Sunday tweeted thus:
