Kano Mum; Lagos, Ogun Report Spike In COVID-19

226 new cases of COVID-19 were reported across the country on Tuesday representing a marginal increase of 4% on the 216 new cases reported the previous day.

The new cases brought the total number of new cases of COVID-19 in the country to 6,401.

The new cases were reported in 16 states and the FCT. As usual, Lagos reported the highest number of cases. The state reported 131 new cases which amounted to 58% of all new cases and was 77% above the 74 new cases reported on Monday.

Lagos was closely followed by Ogun State which reported a surge in new cases as it reported 25 new cases, a 212% leap in the number of new cases reported.

Kano which had been feared to be now experiencing community transmission like Lagos did not report any new case of the novel coronavirus disease on Tuesday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC also reported one new death on account of the pandemic.
