Spike In Oyo, Edo, Ogun As Lagos Holds Lead

For the first time in a long while Nigeria on Saturday did not record any COVID-19 related death. However, there was no respite for the spread of the pandemic as the number of new cases across the country spiked by 8% to 265 up from the 245 recorded on Friday.

The new cases recorded in 13 states and the FCT brought the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 7,526 the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC reported just before midnight of Saturday.

Besides Lagos, the NCDC report also showed a spurt of new cases in the two southern states of Oyo, Edo and Ogun which reported  34, 28 and 23 respectively.
