A day after meeting All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Governor Godwin Obaseki on Monday took his case to President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor who is facing strong opposition to his second term aspiration said he came to formally brief the president on his aspiration during a chat with State House correspondents following the meeting.

‘I have to formally inform him of my ambition,’ the governor said.

His aspiration is facing a strong challenge from his predecessor and national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Oshiomhole has adopted Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as his preferred candidate for the election pending the APC governorship primary.

The governor and his camp are also fighting against the bid by the national leadership of the party to use the direct primary mode to select the candidate of the party.

The outcome of the meeting with Tinubu that was graced by seven other governors, however, was said not to have produced a headway.
