Rape Pandemic! Student Raped, Killed In Ibadan

Barely one week after the rape and murder of Uwaila Omozuwa in Benin, news of a similar rape and murder incident of another female student has been reported in Ibadan.

Miss Bello Barakat, an ND 1 student of Federal College of Animal Health and Production in Ibadan was reportedly gang raped and murdered in Ibadan.

The incident was said to have occurred on Monday, in Akinyele area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

It was learnt that the dead body of Barakat who was 18 was found in her father’s house. It was discovered that she was stabbed and raped, following examination of the corpse.

Nigerians still shocked by the development in Benin following the revelation of the rape and murder of Uwaila are also asking for justice for the late Barakat.

The unfortunate development has led to the hashtag #JusticeForBarakat, as Nigerians are demanding that perpetrators of the act are apprehended to face the wrath of the law.

Bello Barakat was a Muslimah. The first child of her parent (delay in conception with only 2 children). Barakat was a chemist who proceed to Moore Plantation after her freedom.
She was murdered in the bathroom.
