Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Edo State, Mr. Kenneth Imansuangbon has expressed optimism of emerging tops in the party’s governorship primary kick-starting on Tuesday with the election of ward delegates.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, the aspirant popularly referred to as the Rice Man expressed optimism that party delegates would overlook ethnic and other sentiments to focus on his record of philanthropy over the years in choosing him as the candidate for the election.

Bursting with enthusiasm of his capacity, he said that his confidence was in the fact that the primary would be conducted free and fair as he expressed optimism of getting a payback for his good deeds.

“I am confident that things will be done properly because of our men and women at the national level and our governors.

Dismissing insinuations that he is from the minority ethnic group, the educationist and politician said:
“I am not worried at all. In Edo we are one family and we all take our roots from the great Bini kingdom. We are one people, no division.

“The Bini are not tribalists, they love ability, talent and one who can perform. I defeated General Charles. Edo People are waiting for my magic. I am one person that has created wealth.”

Saying that the PDP needed a fighter to fight either Governor Godwin Obaseki or Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, he said:

“Those who know me from my school days know me [for that]. I am a courageous man. My courage is as strong as steel.”

He nevertheless gave his readiness to accept the results of a free and fair primary.

“I’ll shake and hug whosoever wins and I will contribute my campaign money and material to whosoever wins but under one condition: it must be under a free and fair process.”
