Why Acting EFCC Chairman, Magu Was Arrested

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, it emerged on Monday afternoon.

Sources disclosed that he was arrested at the Wuse 2 office of the EFCC and is presently being quizzed in the Presidential Villa, Abuja by a panel set up to quiz him.

No reason was given for the arrest but several allegations have been made against Magu but none had been proved.

Among one of the reasons quoted by the online newspaper, Saharareporters was a petition alleging that he owns four properties and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.

Magu has fought off several allegations including some alleged to have been cooked up against him since his appointment in 2015.
