Top Actress Arrested After Naked Birthday Pix

Ghanaian actress, Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo, who recently posted a controversial nude picture in front of her 7-year-old son has been reportedly arrested.

The actress had on Tuesday June 30th, posted a photograph in which she appeared naked in front of her son who was wearing only pant, in celebration of his seven years birthday.

She captioned the post thus:

“I’m naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don’t pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life. Happy birthday to you @sonof_poloo.”

The photograph sparked outrage on the social media, as many people lambasted the actress for exposing her son to nudity, which they argued can affect his psychology of the son.

She later apologized over the picture, saying she wanted to pass an important message as a mother.

She said, “I have not been myself. The sadness is really hitting me after I post a naked picture in front of my son on his birthday. All I want to say is please forgive me. It will never happen again. Even though I did not post it for bad intentions.

“It was out of the pain, I went through after I gave birth to my son. I realized that the post was not good, so I took it off, looking at the insult and the curses I’m seeing on my page. Have regretted posting it, I just want to say a big sorry to whoever I hate by posting that bad picture, it is not for bad intention.”

Following the controversy that trailed the nude picture, the Child Rights International had petitioned the Ghanaian Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to probe the actress for her action.

“As a child rights organisation, we deem this act as a violation of the Welfare Principle of the Children’s Act and abuse of the child’s rights to privacy and dignity. We wish to notify your esteemed office to investigate the taking of the said images and its circulation.”

It was learnt that the actress has been arrested and taken to the headquarters of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, Accra.
