The Queen of Culture African Beauty and Brains, Miss Niki Gideon has called on the authorities to swiftly address the security challenges in the Middle Belt to enable Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) return to their homes.

She said this following her visit to the IDP Camp in Daudu Camp, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State as part of activities marking her birthday.

Speaking in an exclusive Interview with GWG  on Thursday in Lafia, Queen Niki, said  her love for humanitarian services  made her to visit the camp in order to  touch the lives of the displaced persons.

According to her, the birthday which was celebrated   on the  7th of July , 2020  is  an annual event that has become an avenue  for her to give  to the needy in the society, a gesture which has  been on for over 7 years.

“It was a fulfilment of my dream of  putting  smiles on the faces of the aged ones and children when I visited the camp  recently and  I was happy I did it” she said.

Miss Gideon said  she  donated  relief materials such as clothing materials, facemasks, food items, drinks and snacks to the IDPs to cushion their plights.

She, therefore called on the Federal Government to address the security challenges in Benue so that the IDPs can go back  to their ancestral homes and continue with their farming activities.

” I had conversations with few  of them at the camp, they told me that the   Fulani herdsmen took over their homes, villages and farms. It is sad that someone will come to your land and takeover what rightly belongs to you. The Fulani herdsmen are now settled with their wives, children and cattles in their land. “
