Under Pressure, Udom Moves To Rejig Cabinet

Apparently bowing to pressure from stakeholders to reshuffle his cabinet, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has forwarded seven names to the state House of Assembly to be screened for  position  of Commissioner and Special Advisers.

The nominees list was contained in a letter sent by the governor and read on the floor of the House during plenary on Thursday, July, 16, 2020.

The names that made the governors list are Prof Eno Ibanga Ag.Vice Chancellor Akwa Ibom State University,  Frank Archibong Chairman Eket Local govermment council, and Dr Augustine Vincent Umoh.

Others were Dr Ini Nathaniel Adiakpan; Mrs Enobong Mbobo, Comrade Ini Ememobong, State Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),  Elder Amanam Nkanga and Dr. Imo Moffat.

The names were forwarded to the House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petitions for scrutiny

The Speaker Mr. Aniekan Bassey who presided over the plenary however directed the House Committee to get its report ready within one week.

The governor did not reshuffle his cabinet since his return for a second term.
