The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ticket in Edo State has been taken to task over the certificates of its running mate, Philip Shuaibu following a court action filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC and one of its supporters, Edobor Williams.

In the suit filed at the Federal High Court in Benin City, the deputy governor is accused of forging his credentials a situation that led to him allegedly only submitting his secondary school testimonials in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC form.

The suit is coming in the wake of an equal suit by the APC and Williams against the governor, Mr. Peter Obaseki, who is the PDP candidate.

In a suit marked FHC|B|CS|75|2020, the APC and Edobor Williams held that Philip Shaibu, did not meet the minimum entry requirement for gaining admission into the University of Benin where he reportedly obtained a Master’s Degree following the first degree obtained from the University of Jos.

The plaintiff alleged that it was to cover the deficit that the governorship running mate attached only his secondary school testimonial to his INEC from EC9.

The suit read: “Philip Shaibu downgraded his score of A2 in Mathematics to C4 on his said clearance/eligibility form of University of Benin and placed it under the non-existent 1993 certificate instead of that of 1997 where it rightly belongs.”

“Philip Shaibu in a bid to hide his false WAEC grades filled out in the clearance/eligibility form, he decided not to attach his WAEC certificate and also his purported Masters Degree Certificate to the said INEC FORM EC9. He only added his school testimonials, a statement of degree programme from University of Jos, and notification of Higher Degree from University of Benin.”

Also, the suit alleged that Shaibu was also guilty of presenting a false/forged Income Tax Clearance Certificate purportedly issued to him as a staff of Zacknot Ventures Nigeria Limited.
