Two former governors of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha and Hon. Emeka Ihedioha have been indicted by a panel investigating the financial activities of the Local Government Areas.

Submitting it’s report to Governor Hope Uzodinma, the panel noted that N141 billion was spent on frivolous projects between 2011 and 2019 in the council areas of the State.

The panel headed by Eze Duruiheoma (SAN) particularly observed that the administration of former Governor Rochas Okorocha reduced the local government system to a bedrock of corruption.

He said that the stealing of public funds by Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioners, Council Chairmen and contractors became rampant during the period under review.
