CUPP Goes To Court To Remove Service Chiefs
The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP said on Tuesday that it had dragged President Muhammadu Buhari and the country’s service chiefs to court to remove them from office after the expiration of their tenure in office.
CUPP spokesman, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere who briefed the press in Abuja on Tuesday said that it had become clear that the continued stay in office of the service chiefs was not just a violation of their tenure but a threat to the continued security of the country.
He said the group had thus gone to court to demand the removal of the service chiefs and to stop the president from extending their tenure.
He said that the service chiefs who were due to have retired three years ago have been kept in office to the disadvantage of collective morale.
He said:
It is to forestall the impending danger that the Opposition Coalition CUPP has filed a law suit at the Federal High Court seeking among other things:
