Hours after news emerged of the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu it has also emerged that one of his greatest political associates in Ogun State and former national auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju has also passed away.

Kashamu facilitated the emergence of Adeyanju as national auditor of the PDP during the Senator Ali Sheriff era.

The Ogun State chairman of the PDP, Samson Bamgbose, announced the death of the former national officer in a statement titled, ‘Ogun PDP Mourns Death Of Ex-National Auditor Adeyanju’.

Bamgbose described the former National Auditor’s death as “a great loss to members of his immediate and political family in Ogun State”.

“The late Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju was a complete gentleman and dutiful party leader who was ready to sacrifice anything for the growth of the party. Among other party and political offices, Adeyanju, a Chartered Accountant, served our party as National Auditor to the best of his ability.

“He was a peacemaker and a friend of all. This is a great loss to the PDP family. It is so sad that we have lost him.

“He was always responsive and desirous that things should be done justly and properly. Politicians should learn to be simple and not to take the quest for offices as a do-or-die affair.

“Adeyanju became the National Auditor of our great party when he least expected it and he stayed faithful to the party till the end. He will be sorely missed.
